Arn Tellem on NBA gun control
Arn Tellem, a powerful NBA agent, remembers a time when he was robbed at gunpoint in Washington D.C. A string of such incidents in the summer of 1974 led to the very kinds of District gun laws that Gilbert Arenas violated.
Tellem is, by nature and profession, an advocate of players' rights. But he's calling for new NBA rules limiting players' right to bear arms. (It's worth noting that he's also saying the Wizards should honor Arenas' contract.)

Bartelstein breaks the mold of basketball CEOs, who tend either to be hands-on owners like Jeanie Buss (Los Angeles Lakers) or C-suite business managers like Cynt Marshall (Dallas Mavericks) with limited control over on-court personnel decisions. Bartelstein is something of a hybrid: both a surrogate of Ishbia (who is primarily busy running his mortgage empire back in Michigan) and a well-connected deal-maker who, given his history as a former college player and assistant GM in stad, has a strong hand in roster decisions, alongside general manager James Jones. “The cool part about my job and role is that it’s so broad,” Bartelstein says. “I oversee the business operations, but also the basketball operations.”

PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS)— Franz Lidz’s improbable journey went from profiling a town drunk in Maine, to a $60-a-week gig in Baltimore, to working as the editor of the Johns Hopkins magazine, to becoming a feature writer for Sports Illustrated, the world’s most renowned sports publication, for 27 years, never having read the magazine before arriving at its New York offices the day of his job interview.
