GeneralGregory Stuart Martin[1] (born April 24, )[2] is a retired U.S. Air Force general and Commander, Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Martin was a command pilot with more than 4, flying hours in various aircraft, including the F-4, F, C and C Upon retirement in , Martin took a position consulting for Northrop Grumman and also served on an Air Force panel studying stealth aircraft technology, among other Pentagon and private industry roles.
Military career
[edit]Martin was born in Fort Myer, Virginia in , and graduated from the Landon School, Bethesda, Maryland, in After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in , where he was a National Collegiate Parachuting champion, he went on to fly combat missions in South East Asia, and then went on to train other pilots. Gregg F. Martin, Ph.D., Major General, US Army (Retired), served on active duty for 36 years, until May He is a combat veteran, Bipolar Survivor, Airborne-Ranger-Engineer qualified soldier, and Army Strategist. He holds a Ph.D. and two masters degrees from MIT, masters degrees in national security strategy from both the Army and Naval war colleges, and a bachelors degree from West Point.
