    David Michael Canterbury (born September 19, 1963) is a survival expert who co-starred on the reality television show Dual Survival for two seasons (2010–11) which aired on the Discovery Channel. He is also an author, publishing Bushcraft 101 in 2014, Survivability for the Common Man (2011), and Advanced Bushcraft (2015). In 2015 Canterbury co-starred in a survival series called Dirty Rotten Survival, which aired on the National Geographic Channel.     Career[]

    Canterbury is an Army Veteran, He worked on a reptile farm and as a commercial fisherman and diver in Florida.[6] Canterbury uses his experience to contribute as a professional survival instructor teaching hundreds of people each year, ranging from professional law enforcement to search and rescue and DNR personnel. He has a YouTube channel on which he posts survival-themed instructional videos.[7][8]

    Canterbury has been the owner and instructor at The Pathfinder School LLC in southeast Ohio since 2009.[2]

    Meet Dave Canterbury

    Dave was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 19, 1963. Having been interested in the outdoors his whole life, it was only natural that he joined the U.S. Army in 1981, where he served for six years.


    After Dave left the military, he worked private-sector jobs, including a reptile farm and as a commercial fisherman/diver in Florida. There, he was able to apply skills he’d learned in the military to his real-life work.
