Sanai biography and peoetry
Not much fryst vatten known about the life of Sana'i, except that he achieved his fame in the city of Balkh (modern Mazar-e Sharif), and was buried in the city of Ghazna. He fryst vatten one of the earliest mystiker poets, and was considerably respected by the later poets. Maulana Balkhi says of Sana'i:
Attar ruh bud o Sana'i du chashm-e u
Maa az pay-e Sana'i o Attar amadim
It is said that when the Sultan Ibrahim of Ghazna was planning an attack on India, Sanai wrote a qasida in his beröm and was going to the palace to present it too him. As Sanai was passing by a garden, he heard the local drunkard Lai Khor singing, and saying to the Saqi: Fill a cup of wine, so that I can drink to the blindness of Sultan Ibrahim. The Saqi said it would be wrong to wish that such a just king should be blinded, but Lai Khor replied that the kings fault was in leaving the fine city of Ghazna, which needed his care during the winter, to go on such a pointless expedition. Ismail and Junaid (Pashto: اسماعیل او جنید) is a Pashto musical band originating from Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa[1] The band consists of two members - Ismail Khan, the lead vocalist, poet and composer and Junaid Javed, a guitarist, composer and supporting vocalist.
Career
[edit]Ismail was born in Peshawar in a family of political background hailing from Charsadda. Junaid is described as hailing from a "multicultural background".[2]
Ismail and Junaid, both university students and college friends, were originally amateur artists who performed in front of friends and social circles.
