    Henn Rebane, one of Estonia’s most accomplished accordionists, has produced a music book full of new melodies enriched with exciting and memorable harmonies and rhythms, suitable for performance or as teaching/learning material.

    The book is aimed at medium level players. The player will come across different techniques, including the ricochet tremolo of the bellows, and other interesting playing methods which enliven the music. Even the players of the free bass will find several pieces for them. The pieces are arranged in order of difficulty, and the album includes music for 24 dances and comes together with a CD.     I lost a long-time friend and mentor in September. Henn Rebane was a champion for engineering throughout his more than 60 years in the profession. He came to this country as a refugee from post-World War II Estonia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1956.

    He went on to serve as president of Consulting Engineers Council of Florida (CEC/F), Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers, and Florida Engineering Society; a national director in the National Society of Professional Engineers; a member of the Florida Engineers Management Corporation; a member and chair of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers; and as president of NCEES.

    Henn Rebane, a most-beloved member and founder of the Estonian Society of Central Florida/Kesk Florida Eesti Selts, passed away at home on September 26, 2018, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.     Henn was born to Hans and Maie (Steinberg) Rebane in Kirbla, Estonia, on November 14, 1933. The birth of his brother Priit, whom we all know well, followed. Henn was a man who professed great faith in God and whose life exemplified what it means to be a man of great compassion, generosity, ethics, and integrity. There could have been no finer men of influence shaping Henn’s life than his grandfather Pastor Bernard Steinberg, his father Pastor Hans Rebane, his uncle Pastor Juhan Suurkivi, and his brother Pastor Priit Rebane.
