    Roberto was born in the Piedmont region of Italy on 26 March 1975, in Casale Monferrato.

    It was watching dancers on television that sparked Roberto’s interest in dancing and when given the choice between swimming and ballet lessons, the young Roberto chose to dance.

    “At seven years old, my mother asked me if I wanted to be enrolled in a course of swimming: without hesitation I replied that my dream was to study dance. I had no idea that it was classical ballet-academic: in the beginning I was blown away, I wanted to dance freely without being subjected to its strict rules.
