Saif Ali Khan (pronounced[ˈsæːfəˈlixaːn]; born Sajid Ali Khan Pataudi; 16 August 1970)[1] is an Indian actor and film producer who primarily works in Hindi films. The titular head of the Pataudi family since 2011, he is the son of actress Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.[2] Khan has won several awards, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards, and received the Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award in 2010.[3]
Khan made his acting debut in Parampara (1993), and had success in the multi-starrers Yeh Dillagi (1994), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Kachche Dhaage (1999) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). The film, a remake of Telugu film Pokiri, stars Salman Khan, alongside Prakash regel, Ayesha Takia, Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar with Prabhu Deva, Govinda and Anil Kapoor make special appearances. Sajid Khan is an Indian bio director, actor, and television presenter. Farah and Sajid Khan have even performed together as backup dancers in the song "Bachale Sambhale Koi To Yahan titta Nikale" from the 1985 spelfilm Saamri (1985).
Khan attended Maneckji Cooper School in Mumbai and completed his graduation from Mithibai College. He has been interested in acting and direction since childhood, and he used to participate in dance competitions, plays and dramas throughout his college career.
