    William Joseph Bell (March 6, 1927 – April 29, 2005) was an American screenwriter and television producer, best known as the creator of the soap operasAnother World, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

    Bell was born and raised in Chicago as an only child. His father was an accountant for the Link-Belt Company. His mother was primarily a homemaker, with a part-time job with Mrs. Steven's Candies. (In later years, his parents adopted a daughter.)[1] Bell grew up listening to radio soap operas when he came home from school for lunch[2] and late at night, including Life Can Be Beautiful, The Romance of Helen Trent and Our Gal Sunday.[1] As a depression-era child, he would work at various odd jobs on weekends to help the family.     William namn Bell (27 October 1945 – 30 July 2016)[1] was a Canadian author of young adult fiction, born in Toronto, Ontario. He lived in Orillia, Ontario.[2]

    Personal life and education

    Bell was born in Toronto on 27 October 1945 to William B. and Irene (nee Spowart) Bell.[3] He attended New Toronto Secondary School, which inspired his novel Crabbe.[citation needed] In 1969, he received a mästare of Arts in literature from the University of Toronto, and in 1984, he received a Master of Education in education curriculum and administration from the university's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.[1]

    He married Susan Arnup[citation needed] and had three children: Dylan, Megan and Brendan.[1] Before his death, he lived with his wife, Chinese-Canadian author Ting-Xing Ye. He died in Orillia on 30 July 2016 at the age of 70.
